I was sick over the weekend, but I still managed to complete some sewing, which is good, because I was feeling I was getting behind. The gift set for a preggy friend is done thank goodness, and I am so pleased to have a successful finished product for myself for a change. It gives me courage to try some more.
We have:
Burp cloth and bib set …… flannelette and cotton terry
Romper …… Kwik Sew 3090 in interlock
Baby legs …… upcycled from ladies socks as per a tutorial
Layette top/pants/hat……. New Conceptions, in thermal knit (patterned) plus mystery jersey from the op shop
And a top for me, Simplicity 9193. ……. crinkle synthetic from my stash.

OMG, look at you! You’re glowing in that beautiful top! Well done! Do you find you don’t make as much for yourself as you do other people? Because I’m finding I’m struggling with that. But looking at how great you look, dammit to hell! I’m making something for myself, for a change
That fabric has been sitting in my stash forever, waiting to be made. Completing the top is part of my new year goals. I have had numerous failures over the years, sewing for myself. I am big in the middle, plus big breasted, and a overall weird shape. But I decided if I can succeed with miss18’s formal gowns, then I should be brave with clothing for myself. As for glowing, LOL …. its hot babe, thats not glowing, thats sweating. ROFL
Sweat, glow, what’s the diff? LOL
Yeah, I know what you mean. My boobs are getting bigger than is my liking, and I’m finding it really hard to find properly fitting clothes, and what suits, etc.
